Admissions

New International Students

First, Evergreen Academy would like to welcome you to the United States! We are excited to be able to participate in your educational journey and to help you thoroughly learn the English language. Listed below are the steps required for applying to our school.

  1. Fill out the Student Application and pay the $150 non-refundable application fee.
  2. Send us a copy/scan of your bank statement containing more than $17,000 in your account. (Add $5000/person if you have dependents)
  3. If you have a sponsor, please send his/her bank statement along with a Financial Affidavit Form in that country that is confirmed by a public notary.
  4. Send us a copy or scan of your passport.
  5. The following payments are required:
    • Application Fee (Non-Refundable): $150
    • SEVIS Fee (Non-Refundable): $200
    • International Express Mailing Fee (Optional): $70

Total Fees: Standard - $150 || SEVIS + Mailing Fee(optional) $420

Once these things are completed, we will issue your Initial I-20 and Acceptance Letter and have it sent to you along with your acceptance letter and the SEVIS payment receipt.

Upon the receipt of the documents above, you will need to take these documents and schedule an appointment for an interview with an American consul in the U.S. Embassy.

After you have received you visa, you have 45 days to enroll in the school. You will need to come to Evergreen Academy, take your placement test and receive your Continued I-20 from the school. First Session Fee of $1390 will apply AFTER acceptance.

Change of Status

Application Procedure
**To be filed within 45 days of the end of student’s current status**
  1. Fill out the Student Application and pay the $150 non-refundable application fee.
  2. Send us an original bank statement containing more than $17,000 in your account (Add $5,000 per person if you will have a dependent).
  3. If you have a sponsor in the U.S.(must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) please send his/her bank statement along with a completed I-134 form. If your sponsor is outside the U.S., please get a Financial Affidavit form in that country that is confirmed by a public notary.
  4. Send us a copy of your passport and visa.
  5. Bring the original I-94 if you entered the country before 2013, or a printout if you entered after.
  6. Complete and sign the Change of Status Form: I-539 electronically and save it in case you need to make changes.
  7. Bring a signed cover letter stating the following:
    • What were you doing as a ____ visa?
    • Why do you want to change to F-1?
    • What do you plan to do after you finish the program and go back to your country?
    • A list of the documents you will enclose in the application.
  8. Required Payments:
    • Application Fee (Non-Refundable): $150
    • First session (8 weeks) of tuition: (Refundable) $1,390
    • SEVIS Fee (Non-Refundable): $200
    • Processing Fee (Non-Refundable): $300 (2-Day Rush $50)
    • *Separate Check/Money Order (Non-Refundable) written out to the Department of Homeland Security: $370 This increase from $290 is due to an increase directly from USCIS. This is effective Dec 23rd 2016. USCIS Fee schedule
    • Total: $2,410 (2-Day Rush $2,460)
  9. After Steps 1-8 are complete, you will receive your I-20.

(Change of Status process usually takes about 3 – 6 months, so upon the receipt of your “APPROVAL” or “DENIAL”, please bring the letter to our school)

Transferring to our School

We are so glad you are interested in pursuing your education career here at Evergreen Academy. Listed below is the transfer protocol for our institution

  1. Fill out the Student Application and pay the $150 non-refundable application fee.
  2. Send us a copy or scan of your bank statement containing more than $17,000 in your account (Add $5,000 per person if you will have a dependent).
  3. If you have a sponsor in the U.S., please send his/her bank statement along with a completed I-134 form. If your sponsor is outside the U.S., please get a Financial Affidavit form in that country that is confirmed by a public notary.
  4. Please fill out the top portion of the Transfer-In Form.
  5. Send us a copy or scan of your passport, visa and I-94.
  6. Also send us a copy of your current school’s I-20 and any other I-20’s you may have.
  7. Evergreen will fax your Acceptance Letter and Transfer-In Form to your current school.
  8. Once your records have been released from the other school, we will call you so that you may come in and take your placement test, pick up your new I-20 and enroll.
  9. >Upon enrollment, you will pay the first session tuition of $1,390.

Reinstatement

Application Procedure
**Please apply as soon as possible, as you are currently out of status

We will then give you the Initial I-20: Reinstatement Requested. You must continue to study in good status while this application is pending.

  1. Fill out the Student Application and pay the $150 non-refundable application fee.
  2. Send us an original bank statement containing more than $17,000 in your account (Add $5,000 per person if you will have a dependent).
  3. If you have a sponsor in the U.S., please send his/her bank statement along with a completed I-134 form. If your sponsor is outside the U.S., please get a Financial Affidavit form in that country that is confirmed by a public notary. Copy your passport, visa, and I-94.
  4. Complete and sign the Change of Status Form: I-539 electronically and save it in case you need to make changes.
  5. Copy ALL I-20’s from all of the schools you attended
  6. Bring original transcripts from all of the schools you attended.
  7. Bring the original I-94 if you entered the country before 2013, or a printout if you entered after.
  8. Complete the Reinstatement Form: I-539 electronically and save it in case you need to make changes. Write “REINSTATEMENT” in red ink at the top of the form. In Part 2, Question 1, check “C”, and write “Reinstatement to F-1 Status.” If you have dependents, please include them in the application.
  9. Bring a cover letter explaining the following:
    • Why did you fall out of status?
    • Why were the circumstances for termination beyond your control?
    Evergreen Academy will write you a recommendation letter.
  10. Required payments:
    • Application Fee (Non-Refundable): $150
    • Mailing Fee (Non-Refundable): $30
    • Processing Fee (Non-Refundable): $300 (2-Day Rush $50)
